Some dude on Instagram told you ” if you want to succeed in life as a teenager you need to drop out of college and focus on passion” Another guy told you ” Go to school, get a job, and work”.
I don’t think that’s a success !!
Well, then what is success?
Here is the truth – Success is different for everyone, For a rapper, it might be having supercars and models, For a college student it might get good grades.
For me, it’s about having more free time and doing what I love.
Before you begin, I want you to take a paper and write down what success means to you.
Here is a list of things you can do to improve your life as a teenager but there are more things you need to know to completely change your life for the better
- Wake up early

Here are 10 changes that I implemented into my life that helped me to be a better person.
Waking up early is the secret to success as a teenager
Sleep is an essential part of your life, you as a teenager cannot perform well in school or sports if you do not get the quality amount of sleep.
Night owl (aka) late night sleep is common in teenagers.
if you want to improve your life as a teenager you need to fix your sleeping time and start waking up early.
Take a look at 2 major benefits of sleeping and waking up early.
More time – Waking up early helps you to get more work done in school and other areas of your life.
Simply by waking up early you will have time to manage many activities.
Okay but, Why can’t I stay up late and get more work done?
That question brings us to the next benefit.
No distraction – Let’s be real we are distracted throughout the day, whether it’s social media, family, or friends.
Simply waking up early helps you to focus and strike of many tasks from your to-do list.

How can you wake up early?
Don’t expect to wake up early without changing a few bad sleeping habits that you follow.
Take a look at some sleeping habits that helped me to sleep well and wake up early.
⦁ Create an evening routine – Reading and journaling are the best places to start.
⦁ Make sure your bedroom is dark, quiet, and cool.
⦁ Say no to chocolates, coffee, sodas, and energy drinks after the afternoon.
⦁ Make sure you are comfortable.
⦁ Turn off screen an hour before sleep.
Extra tip – Alarmy is an app that I use, which is perfect if you want to make sure you are up early.
You can’t hit the snooze button until you follow a certain method, I have to scan a barcode to the off the annoying noise, and by that time I don’t feel to go back to bed.

Morning routines – It may sound boring but, getting into the habit of performing 2-3 tasks every morning without fail will get you into the state of flow to perform bigger tasks.
Not only that, A clear morning plan is required to get you moving out of bed.

Use 20 Minutes Rule – The idea is simple, Break down the first hour of waking up into three parts of 20 minutes.
- First 20 Minutes – Start with exercise, the goal here is to move your body to sweat.
- Second 20 Minutes – Meditation, sit in a peaceful place, and think about short terms goals and your day.
- Third 20 Minutes – Learn, Use this time to read books and listen to podcasts.
Consume Rich Content
Take a look at your friends and notice how they are influencing you.
You are like 5 people who you surround with, Well why is it important?
Here is the reason – if you are around negative people you will be thinking about bad outcomes and failures.
so, start with your friends offline and online. Remove everyone who is constantly engaged in negative thoughts and letting you down.
Start being around people who will uplift you, encourage, and make you laugh.
Reading books is a skill you need to master if you want to improve life as a teenager.
You can learn a lot through just reading a book, in fact, the idea mentioned earlier was from a book named deep work.
Reding is powerful, as it can improve your abilities to think and write.

Deep working on a single task is the answer to getting tasks done in a distracted world.
If you want to get better in life as a teenager, you need to learn how to work deeply.
well, what is deep work?
Simple, focus on one specific work/study without distraction.
I repeat, One single task – No multitasking.
Turn off your phone and keep a timer for 25 minutes and till the snooze hits, just focus.
4 Tips to perform deep work
Let’s say you have an upcoming exam.
- Start with Place – You can do something like ‘I will go to (xx) coffee shop and study one chapter
- Plan – Plan what you are going to study + how are you going to do it.
- Use Timer – You can say – I will deep study from 9 am to 11 am. , and then keep 25 minutes timer on your phone, when the snooze hits don’t start using social media, instead get out go for a walk.
- Avoid Distractions – Whether it’s social media, family, or friends. You can also use an app named Block site, which blocks ceratin websites for xx period of time.
Get Out and Meet Freinds
Going and meeting your friends plays a huge role in improving your life as a teenager.
Loneliness leads to many problems such as

I don’t want you to be depressed. so, go out, meet friends and laugh. it’s good to take breaks from studies and have fun.
Not only that, Socialising increases the quality of your mental health, confidence, life ( as done by studies).
But always, keep a balance between your alone time and socializing.

Improving your appearance helps you to be confident, improves your mental health, and above all it’s the best form of self-care.
